Gilmore ‘Junior’ Tavares

Barkley mouthpieces are made in São Paulo, Brazil by Gilmar ‘Junior’ Tavares. Junior started playing alto saxophone at the age of 13. His quest for the perfect mouthpieces made him experiment with Vandoren blanks which eventually led to his own custom design line of mouthpieces. His latest models use two different colors which are mixed according to the customer’s wishes.
