    Steve Wedgwood: Just to kick off.
     I began playing an alto sax as most people do but soon found out that when playing with a keyboard and guitar led band, I had to transpose everything.
     And that was fine until They began writing the songs on the guitar and using the key of E a lot. It transposes to C# major, my least favourite key on the sax.
    I wondered why they didn't make saxes in the key of C?  Then found out they did and they were very popular in the 1920s.
