Esteban Ramos was born on February 23, 1988. Ever since he was a child, he always showed his passion for music. He picked up his first pair on drumsticks at the age of 3. A year after, his mother decided to buy him a junior drum set. He continued to practice at home till the age of 5 where he began playing drums at his local church for several years. Esteban would love to sing with his mother. His mother always encouraged him to sing and worship God.
At the age of 11, Esteban joined the band at his elementary school picking up his first woodwind instrument, The Clarinet. As he learned and grew musically, he came across the alto saxophone and decided to learn how to play this strange instrument at that time. He immediately fell in love with the instrument and continued to play saxophone for the remainder of his time at elementary school. The music director for the school saw how passionate Esteban was about playing music. He contacted the local high school which Esteban would attend to speak with the music director.
Esteban then attended Bassick High School where he was instructed by John Pearson. All four years of high school Esteban played alto saxophone for the marching band, jazz ensemble band, and concert band. Here Esteban grew in theory and skills. At the age of 16, Esteban learned to play the piano and began to play at his local church Iglesia Cristiana Renacer in Bridgeport, CT. After playing piano for several years, Esteban learned how to play the guitar and bass.
In 2005, Esteban had the honor of recording alongside his mother, Regina Alicea, his first album "Hay Algo En Mi Interior". This album began to open doors for Esteban to minister in various locals concerts. One of many was in 2006 with Abraham Velazquez. God continued to open many doors for Esteban in many local churches for his singing ministry to expand.
In September of 2007, Esteban opened with worship at a concert in New Haven, CT. where his soon to be band director was present. Daniel Flores Jr. approached him after the concert and invited him to become the lead singer of his band, Alter Call Band. The band consisted of 5 member; Danny Flores (Guitar), Joshua Ortiz (Drums), Andrew Melendez (Bass), Irving Medina (Piano), and Esteban Ramos (Vocals). They traveled in the spring of 2008 to Nashville, TN to participate in an event called Band With A Mission. That experience was a very mind opening experience where they were able to grow as a band.
