Bill directed me to you a couple of years ago and I purchased you HR mouthpiece, a 6*. Bill has been helping get back to playing after 40 years. One day, he, like some other people that have been assisting me, told me that I'm not projecting enough and wanted to try an experiment. He took another mouthpiece, popped my reed on it and then told me to again try. Lo and behold, it was the same HR mouthpiece, but an 8* which forced me to really blow and then he said, "that's what you're supposed to sound like!" I have been using it ever since. I am playing a Selmer Series II, Super Action 80 Tenor, and I guess that doesn't hurt either! I use the HR with a Bari MH reed and allot of great players have complimented me on my intonation. Wolfe Tayne, creator of the Bari Reeds, was my private clarinet teacher almost 50 years ago! Just wanted to say hi and thanks for making such great mouthpieces.
    All the Best,
    Steve  less

Jody Espina First review of "Tradin' With The Greats"

    Hey Jody,
Just wanted to give you my initial feedback on the tradin' CD... I got home last night and just threw in the Garzone CD.  First note and my first thought was wow this sounds crystal clear even on my wal mart bought computer speakers.  It really sounds quite nice, so big kudos to the studio and mixing engineers.  Tried to just play all the way through the first CD... going to have to sit with a couple of the tunes to really get a handle on it, especially the GG tune (Mingus).  But anyways, definitely a great album man.  Felt myself instantly having a more natural swing feel in my playing and you really do get that feeling of jamming with that rhythm section which of course is great.  And although if I'm completely honest I'm not the biggest fan of GG's playing (although I respect the hell out of it, just stylistic differences I guess) I definitely was inspired to be playing differently and outside of my comfort zone and playing different things tha...  ...  more
