Dear Dr. Hemke, I studied saxophone with Dr. Earl Ericksen at Weber State in Ogden, Utah many years ago. At that time, he was so hopeful that I would continue my studying for further degrees and he wanted me to study with you. I thought maybe I would teach band a few years and then go back to school and study with you later. Well, 30 years has gone by and life took me a different direction. Dr. Ericksen admired you so much. He passed away last Summer. He was a huge influence in my life. Maybe you remember him? Sincerely, Sheryl Moore Laukat CEO, Cannonball Musical Instruments less
Sheryl Laukat → Evan Tate: Happy Birthday Evan! I really enjoyed seeing you in Frankfurt. You are a true gentleman and a great player! It's our honor to have you playing Cannonball.
I was so fortunate to study saxophone under Dr. Earl Ericksen. He taught me to play classically and he also taught me to play jazz. He played both styles very well. It was a small school where I was taken under the wings of brilliant musicians and instructors.
I agree totally with this article - great job Nelson! We were surprised when we heard Eric play in Tokyo - we walked in and he was playing straight ahead jazz. He sounded fantastic and his energy is electrifying. Go Eric!
We met Candy with her father, Hans, in their windmill stuido in The Netherlands. Both were gracious hosts. Candy's sound is huge but just as impressive is her genuineness.
