He estado dividiendo la practica en tres partes; con el metrónomo, con un "play-a-long", o a la vez con una gradación real. Con el metrónomo es la mas difícil para mi, pero es bien gratificante. Usualmente yo practico el mismo numero con el "play-a-long" (yo uso la aplicacion de iPhone iRealB), que con el metrónomo solo. Obviamente, primero lo hago mas lento, después le subo la velocidad. Por ahora yo solo lo hago en la tonalidad real del numero cuando lo hago con el metrónomo. Pero cuando lo hago con iRealB lo trato de hacer en las mas diferentes tonalidades como sea posible, pero no te voy a mentir, no lo hago en todas las tonalidades porque se me acaba el tiempo, pero mientras mas tonalidades cubra mejor. (La aplicación iRealB es como el programa Band-in-a-Box, tu puedes hacer lo que sea en cualquier tonalidad o cualquier velocidad con diferentes estilos ...    less

    Solo quería compartir la forma en la que estado practicando improvisación ultimamente. I've been dividing it into three different parts; with only a metronome, with a play-a-long device, and along with a real recording. With a metronome is the hardest one for me, but it's very rewarding. I usually do the same tune I'm learning with the play-a-long (I use the iRealB iphone app) as with a metronome alone. Obviously, I first do it at slower tempos, then speed it up. For now I just do it in the real key of that tune when doing it with a metronome. But when I do it with iRealB I try doing it in as many keys as possible, I won't lie to you, I don't do it on every key because I run out of time quickly, but the more different keys I do it the better. (The iRealB app is like Band-in-a-box, you can do anything in any key or tempo with many different rhythm section styles). The third way is with a real recording, I do it different ways, I try to play my own solo on top of the solo I'm trying to imitate, or I try coping what the solo I'm liste...    less

  • Biography Since 2000­ I have be­en playing­ lead alto­ saxophone­ with the ­Army Blues­, a U.S. A­rmy full-t­ime jazz b­ig band in­ Washingto­n D.C. I'm­ originall­y from Gua­nica, Puer­to Rico.
